Markets Operations is responsible for driving every part of the trade lifecycle post execution. Its global teams manage settlement activity, risk and control, while ensuring the delivery of regulatory compliance and seamless operational client service across 60 countries.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Associate Director.

Principal Responsibilities

This role is responsible for driving and delivering on the book of work across all of Equities in APAC. The candidate will be expected to contribute to the three Group strategic objectives of,
Growing the business
Implementing Strategic, markets and regulatory initiatives
Streamlining the business

Core to the role will be leading or being part of a team to deliver on business and technology projects from initiation through to successful project closure. The candidate will be expected to work closely with Operations teams, Front Office, Technology and other stakeholders to ensure successful delivery. Projects will need to be well-controlled and meet the needs and expectations of the various business stakeholders.

The role requires a strong & assertive candidate with expertise in planning out projects and implementation schedules, the ability to manage a complex network of stakeholders, including the business unit, Regional & Global management and the Global operations management team as well as multiple IT and control teams (Finance, Credit Risk, Compliance, etc.) in the region. The role requires effective delivery to schedule and budget and effective escalation to stakeholders if and when assigned projects become off track.

The candidate will support a portfolio of projects, whereby he/she will be expected to perform a variety of Change roles depending on the specifics of the project including: Project Management, Business Analysis, Test Lead and Workstream Lead, IT coordination.

Qualifications

Requirements
9+ years’ experience of delivering change projects leading to an excellent understanding of the challenges of delivering change and how appropriate use of project management methodologies, standards and disciplines can improve the quality of change deliverables.

Business knowledge of Equities products, in Middle to Back Office Operations.

Knowledge in Front to Back Trade Flow and processes.

Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and/or experience of process re-engineering.

Demonstrable experience in the Investment Banking industry or similar environment (e.g. broker, custodian)

Proven track record of having delivered and/or reviewed complex, cross organisational/geographical business or technology change within Operations.

Experience in working in multi-national and multi-cultural financial institutions.

Experience of working closely with stakeholders in Change from the front office business, infrastructure and IT.

Able to build strong relationships with other functions and business units and to interface and influence senior managers in the organisation.

Excellent presentation (including PowerPoint), communication skills and interpersonal skills.

Positive ‘can do’ attitude, high level of drive to meet aggressive deadlines and targets.
